This winter scavenger hunt is suitable for home learning, giving children the chance to explore the outdoors and decide what to enter in different categories on the accompanying worksheet.

Whether they are looking for tracks, berries/seeds, for early signs of spring, or for icicles, children are asked to share their finds, explain why they might not have found what they were looking for (considering temperatures and locality), and have the option of listing their finds in a language other than English.

A word search provides some help with ideas for what they might be looking for.

The lesson plan includes some helpful links to websites for self study, and the solution to the word search.
